TWO of our three children were born in Switzerland. The experience was profound. The care and attention we received was without compare!
As a Canadian birthing abroad I began to see the gaps within the North American culture surrounding the childbearing year.
Over a decade later, I am still passionate about birth, parenting and have an insatiable love of infants. For this reason, I educate, support and advocate for safe family-centered pregnancy, childbirth and support.
Having been an active member of the Alberta birth community since 2006 I am thrilled to hold the following qualifications:
Recognizing the needs of modern-day families and desiring to provide professional and consistent service to all families Chavah Childbirth Services Inc. (CCS) was founded.

I am also a member of the Calgary Doula Association, Red Deer Doula Association and serve as the vice-president for MaternityCare Consumers of Alberta Network (MCAN). I also enjoy writing pregnancy, birth and early parenting articles. See below.
I wholeheartedly believe that all families are unique and the childbearing year should be claimed as their own and defined as they see it. It is for this reason, I look forward to connecting with you.
"It is not only that we want to bring about an easy labour, without risking injury to the mother or the child: we must go further. We must understand that childbirth is fundamentally a spirtual, as well as a physical, achievement. The birth of a child is the ultimate perfection of human love."
~ Dr. Grantly Dick-Read, 1953
